Meckler lies when he claims Scalia supported Article V

By Rasputin

H/t The New American

A friend of Rasputin’s received an email from the Convention of States a few days ago, claiming “new documents” were uncovered in which deceased Justice Antonin Scalia supported an Article V Convention of States. How convenient. Since the Justice is not with us anymore, he can’t refute it. But of course there’s more to this story.

Farris and Meckler now eating their own, CoS volunteer booted for skepticism

By Rasputin

It’s hard enough to watch Meckler and Farris and their minions denigrate those who are against their Convention of States/Article V movement and then delete their posts and/or ban them from their Facebook page.

But now they are eating their own.

Convention of States Project writing own rules for a “convention”

By Rasputin

Well well well. The Convention of States Project had a busy week.

Not only have they made it clear they think they are “in charge” through denigration of critics and legislators, ad hominem attacks on detractors, and allowing people on their FB page to get away with threatening those who disagree; now they think they have made it clear they are totally in charge of any “convention” and are writing the rules for said convention, and expecting all state legislators in the country to go along with them. Those who don’t believe in their project and “rules” be damned.

Convention of States Project uses unethical meeting tactic

By Anastasia

Here we go folks with some more unethical behavior by Mssrs. Meckler, Farris and their cabal.

This time it is using an unethical technique in meetings to insure a desired outcome.

Mo’ Money Blues for Meckler, Farris, Levin and Convention of States

By Vinnie

It was Mark Levin who kicked off this Convention of States idea last year in his bestseller The Liberty Amendments. He then joined with Meckler and Farris to launch the Convention of States national crusade. To pad his cachet, Levin then did a curious thing, he made the argument that James Madison was against Nullification, which he most decidedly was not. (Nullification is where a state can declare a federal law unconstitutional, and refuse to abide by it.)

For taking that stance, Levin took a series of tongue-lashings from several constitutional scholars and forums, including Publius Huldah, whose public sliming by Mark Meckler was a major reason why this site was established. (see our Why We’re Here mission statement at the top of the page.) They all cited direct quotes from Madison himself. Levin’s only defense was from some letters Madison wrote in the 1830s against South Carolina’s attempted nullification of a federal tariff, which was directed at an  unconstitutional (illegal) nullification. Meckler-Farris-Lessig & Leftwing Association Confirmed

By Vinnie

Sometimes I don’t need to say very much.

Mark Meckler’s toadies have been carping about our “lies” about the Mecker-Farris relationship (they co-founded Convention of States) and their individual and collective relationship with Lawrence Lessig, the renowned leftwing law prof, and who seems to have camped on the front stoop of just about every Article V group in America (Goldwater Institute anyone?, including Nick “I want to be an A-team player” Dranias, over in Arizona. I spent a month in jail there one weekend…all because of my last name. Fugetabouit).

Meckler’s Convention of States Mocks Other Conservatives

By Vinnie

I’ve visited several Article V sites, both pro and con, and have noted a strong mocking tone by proponents of the Article V process against people who show up with hard questions. or disagree. Several have told me how viscous the anti-V crowd has been with their comments and questions but I can’t find any, and so I have asked them to show me.

They don’t seem to be able to.

Meckler misleads with number of states signed up/in

By Lizzie B

My oh my my. What a whole lot of confusion going around in this frazzled brain of mine. So many emails, so much confusing information and so many different numbers and claims.

And Lizzie isn’t the only person confused by all this finagling. I’ve even seen people on that new fangled stuff called Twitter and Facebook confused and asking questions.

But now in all seriousness. Below is a partial email from the Convention of States dated February 16 of this year. 2015.

It is signed by Meckler. He states 26 states have filed The Convention of States Resolution. What exactly does filed mean? We know it doesn’t mean passed both Houses of the state legislature, since we know positively only 4 states have passed both houses: Georgia, Florida, Alaska and just a few weeks ago, Alabama.

Meckler’s Hirelings Accuse Us of Their Own Conspiracy

Rush Limbaugh says this all the time and it’s been considered to be a signature of Leftists tactics for many years. I first noticed it coming out of the mouths of Harold Ickes and Sid Blumenthal defending the Clinton’s when they were still in the White House.

Meckler’s volunteers taught Alinsky tactics as well

By Anastasia

This is an article mostly of pictures and screen shots. Many times these kinds of articles have a real impact on readers more than just a bunch of words.

As Rasputin told you last week Meckler et. al. loves to go after elderly women. Anastasia refers to constitutional scholar Publius Huldah.

Publius supposed “crime” was having an in-law with a questionable alliance. This was 20-30 years ago. For emphasis Anastasia will put out Meckler’s vile tweet again. Remember, Meckler despises Publius because she makes a good anti-Article V case and informs people why she is against it:
